My Research Services

Conveniently located in Euclid, Ohio, I am an hour or so drive away from eight Northeast Ohio counties, including: Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark, and Summit Counties.

Among other repositories in these counties, I have convenient access to the Western Reserve Historical Society, the Cuyahoga County Archives, Cleveland Public Library, Akron-Summit County Library, and many other local societies, libraries, and archives.

In addition the the above areas and  resources, I can research across Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Extended areas of research include the Ohio Historical Society and Carnegie Library.  I can perform basic research in other areas as determined by what I can effectively access remotely. I’ll follow where the trail leads, but in the event I can no longer work efficiently in a given location, I will refer you to a quality researcher who can.

Each project is unique, so please contact me with your research problem, and I will be glad to consult with you free of charge. Should you decide to enlist my services, my fees are straightforward. I charge:

All research services including planning, research, and reporting time. Additional charges may include actual copy costs and other expenses. Travel charges may be required outside of the eight-county area listed above and will be clearly stated before any work commences. I prefer the surprises to be in your research report, not your bill.

Document retrieval (requires exact volume/page references). Minimum 1/2 hour.

All writing and other custom projects will be quoted on an individual basis.

Upon acceptance of a research proposal, and in order to inform and protect both parties, an agreement will be sent to you for examination and approval. The signed agreement and a 2-hour deposit are required prior to beginning a project. Document retrieval does not require an agreement, but will require payment in full before documents will be transferred.
