Whelp – it’s spring break at the school where I work, and Spring Break means one thing: ROAD TRIP!

After having put it off for a few years, I am finally getting down to Fayette County, PA tomorrow for a visit to the courthouse, library, and a drive around Brownsville. I’m collecting what info I can about the Staats and Chandler families during the time they lived in that area (abt 1793-1816) before moving on to Ohio. While I don’t expect to find much new information, you never know.

Upon my late night return, I’ll catch a few winks and head off Thursday to a lecture by Elissa Scalise Powell in Painseville.

Next week? Perhaps Delaware, maybe another PA trip? Marietta? Who knows?
